At a ceremony marking the start of the credit line implementation by Republic of Turkey for SMEs, artisans and individuals, which was held in Sarajevo on May 20, 2015 representatives of the ZiraatBank BH signed contracts with the top 50 beneficiaries of the funds.
Solemn ceremony was attended by President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and members of the BiH Presidency.
The total amount of the credit line is 50 million, and 50 representatives of small and medium BiH companies that have signed contracts received a total of nine million, from the first phase of the credit line.
The funds from the credit line, as previously announced, will be used for financing investment and business activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina aimed at strengthening and improving the economy in BH, increasing employment, financing of projects in the areas of manufacturing, agriculture, tourism and related services.
Turkish President Erdogan said in his speech that he has led hundreds of businessmen in Bosnia and Heregovina from Turkey, with the intention to strengthen ties between these two countries, and he has a wish for much more investments from Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to encourage and BiH businessmen on investment.
He added that their desire is to strengthen Bosnia and Herzegovina economy and import of BiH products to the large Turkish market.
Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mladen Ivanic said, on behalf of the BiH institutions, that they are very grateful to the ZiraatBank for establishing a fund for supporting small and medium enterprises in BiH and that he hopes that we will know how to use this support.
